Import Google Classroom Rosters to Flipgrid

Flipgrid just made it a whole lot easier to get students logged into your Flipgrid group. Gone are the days of sending email invites or sending kids codes. Over the winter break, Flipgrid gave us the option to import your Google Classroom rosters to a Flipgrid group. For younger students, and for teachers who are teaching courses with new students at the start of the semester, this is a huge time saver.

If starting a Flipgrid group from scratch, in your Flipgrid admin console, click Create a Group. If you want to sync a pre-existing group, open the Group and click the edit button.

Give your new group a name.

Scroll down to the section titled Permissions. Click Google Classroom.

If not logged in with Google, you'll be prompted to do so. Once logged in with Google, you'll see a button to Select a class.

Choose a Google Classroom to sync with this particular Flipgrid group.

Once you've selected your Classroom, click Create Group.

Once created, you'll see tabs for Topics and Students. When you click Students, you'll see your roster from the respective Google Classroom you've synced. If kids are enrolled and unenrolled to your Google Classroom, you have the ability to re-sync. As time goes on, you'll be able to click on a student and see which and how many videos they each have submitted.
